A NPO/NGO legal model knowledge sharing session

A legal corridor is the foundation for organizations to operate effectively and develop. Although volunteering in Vietnam has appeared for many years, there are still many weaknesses and challenges.

Some issues and current status of volunteering activities in the community from a legal perspective in Vietnam were openly shared at the NPO/NGO legal model knowledge sharing session on March 5, 2021.

The sharing session was held at ASIF office, with the participation of Mr. Pham Truong Son - Deputy Director of LIN Center. As an outreach and community organization specialist with more than 10 years of experience working with youth, children and vulnerable communities in Vietnam, specializing in HIV/AIDS related issues, Mr. Son brought to the session a lot of basic knowledge about the history of NGO/NPO activities.

The sharing session included background information on the history of NPOs in Ho Chi Minh City, the legal framework for organizations, types of NPOs and current challenges. In particular, there was a question and answer session on real-life issues of ASIF's partners such as Mai Tam Shelter, Mai Tam Family, FFSC.
