On 18 November 2022, a set of moveable first-generation X-ray radiography machine built with AI was given to the people of Thanh An island commune of Can Gio district by the ASIF Foundation.
The new technology X-ray equipment was expected to support greatly the medical workers on the remote island of Thanh An in their jobs, enabling them to conduct more accurate diagnoses and reducing patient intake overload in major hospitals at higher levels. The handover ceremony was organized by the People’s Committee of Can Gio district with participation from leaders of HCMC Health Department, Can Gio District Medical Centre, ASIF Foundation and the Annalise.ai Artificial Intelligence company represented by Mr. Tran Dang Minh Tri and Tran Dang Dinh Ang, who are also the authors of the AI software built in the X-ray equipment, called Annalise CXR Edge.

The X-ray radiography machine is built in with AI software which allows radiologists to detect 95 types of abnormalities in the lungs in 10 seconds. After capturing, the images are uploaded on to PACS system enabling the doctors to consult diagnosis with top expert doctors based in major hospitals of the city. The process helps boost the accuracy and appropriacy level of a diagnosis and treatment pathway for the patients. Mr. Tran Dang Minh Tri said “After learning the community needs and carefully inspecting the capacity of local medical team, we decided to provide an equipment set that includes and meets requirements for software, connectivity, image storage and uploads for PACS and dedicate it to the healthcare services in Thanh An island, Can Gio district, Ho Chi Minh city. This piece of equipment would be effective and deliver practical results for the local people while uplifting barriers to adequate medical equipment in Thanh An island. As the equipment comes into operation, the people on the island will be able to access high-quality healthcare services compared to previously. With that, we hope to see improvement in the health of local people here.” Mr. Tran Dang Minh Tri is the founder of Annalise.ai and vice chairman of the ASIF Foundation.

Thanks to the new technology X-ray equipment, for Thanh An island – the most distant area under Ho Chi Minh city, recruiting a radiologist doctor is not so much important since the new X-ray equipment supports the diagnosis accurately using AI in-built software allows for full chest screening with the Annalise CXR Edge. This is an AI application that can help detect abnormalities from X-rays right after screening. Doctors and medical officers can use the results to diagnose damages and develop appropriate treatment pathways. More meaningfully, the software is developed by young intellects from Ho Chi Minh city, Mr. Tran Dang Minh Tri and Tran Dang Dinh Ang. The technology was recognized in countries with advanced healthcare facilities such as Australia and Japan.
On 11 November 2022, four doctors from the Department of Health of Ho Chi Minh city made a first visit to the Thanh An medical station to receive the equipment, get training on how to use it and cascaded down to other medical officers at the Thanh An medical station.
